Meet the artist
Looking closer.
I’m Lianne Issa, a Dorset artist working in oils and graphite. I taught myself through study and practice, developing my approach over many years.
Drawing has been part of my life since childhood, and I began pursuing it seriously in my early twenties. Faces have always fascinated me, particularly the expression and character that make each person distinctive.
My work is rooted in realism, with space for the qualities of paint and pencil to remain visible. Capturing a sense of feeling matters to me as much as the detail.

Time, observation, care
From a first mark
to a finished piece.
Careful observation is central to my process. I continue to develop my practice by revisiting the fundamentals and exploring new approaches to familiar subjects.
My work has been exhibited at the Purbeck Art Festival and the Shards exhibition at Bournemouth International Centre, where it received awards.
I choose subjects that inspire me and offer my completed work for sale. I do not accept commissions.
